Gordon Buchanan is Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals, London. He is experienced in carrying out a wide variety of Colorectal and General Surgical procedures.
He graduated from St Thomas' Hospital, London and undertook colorectal and general surgical training in South East England. He also received advanced colorectal training at St Mark's Hospital, Harrow, St Thomas' Hospital, London and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada.
During additional laparoscopic colorectal training fellowships in Colchester and Yeovil, Mr Buchanan undertook laparoscopic appendicectomy and day case laparoscopic cholecystectomy, as well as benign and malignant laparoscopic colorectal resection. He also undertook research at St. Mark's Hospital and Imperial College, London. He has published papers on many aspects of colorectal surgery, in particular investigation of anorectal conditions and fistula-in-ano. He is presently undertaking collaborative research on laparoscopic resection of colorectal cancer.

Payment and costs
Fees for rectal treatments and other procedures undertaken at 108 Harley Street are charged are routinely covered in full by all medical insurers. If surgery is indicated a detailed estimate will be provided for the surgical fees.
Procedures performed in the Day Surgery Centre are subject to a hospital charge as well as the consultant’s fees. These charges have been agreed with all the major UK medical insurance companies, and subject to policy terms and conditions does not affect the out-patient allowance.
Inclusive packages for uninsured patients are available on request. The inclusive package fee covers the cost of surgery, anaesthesia and theatre. Payment is required in advance of operation.
